Looking back at bmi's 2017

15 Dec 2017

The end of the year is a time for both reflection and planning – and with less than three weeks left of 2017, we at bmi are thrilled to look back on the successes of the year that was, and as always are excited for the year to come.

When the bmi gates close for our annual Christmas holiday on Thursday 21st December, we will have seen over 300 trailers leave our production line to be delivered to their owners across the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and Africa in the last 12 months. With over 70 orders already confirmed on our 2018 production schedule, the New Year is shaping up to be just as busy for both our Granville Head Office and Brierley Hill branches – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

To cope with the continued growth and increase of repair jobs at our service and repair centre bmi Pit Lane, this year we welcomed a new addition to the Brierley Hill team. Tom Morgan joined us in March as our dedicated Service & Repair Sales Manager – helping to manage and further develop the demand for service support to vehicles and parts across GB. The bmi Pit Lane team have undertaken various large projects this year, including lots of repeat business with many valued customers – some of which were first time Pit Lane customers. As well as increasing their wet kit installations over the year, PL have also completed many trailer renovations for various national players with more due in the New Year.

And it’s not only Pit Lane that has flourished this year, as bmi Vehicle Hire yet again continues to grow from strength to strength. At the beginning of the year, VH changed sites and moved to Brierley Hill. The consolidation of the PL and VH sites meant that we could further improve services and increase the turnaround on trailers. 2017 also saw the addition of 18 new trailers to the VH fleet, with 8 of those currently on a 3 – 5 year contract, increasing the total hire fleet size to 63 moving floors and ejectors.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to attend and exhibit at a number of shows this year, including: Tipex, Waste’17, RWM, Oswestry Truck Show and finally Solutrans at the Eurexpo Lyon where we promoted and introduced our new bmi MetalMover® to the French market. The interest was so great that we’re heading back to Lyon next year to exhibit at the Pollutec 2018 show for the very first time, where we’ll be introducing our bmi WasteMover® - a lighter version of the MetalMover which we’re excited to be bringing to market in 2018.

2018 looks to be another great year for us all, but we couldn't do it without the continued support and custom from our suppliers and clients. Here's to another successful year for everyone!!
